iVOLUNTEER Orientation Programme

Event On : 01 Oct 2016

iVOLUNTEER held a one day Orientation workshop for the present batch of NSS (National Service Scheme) volunteers. It's main aim was to inculcate the ethics of volunteering in social activities.
Conducted by Mr. Tanveer, a corporate trainer, the session was highly educative and interactive. It focused on the key aspect of the relationship betwen the NGOs' and its volunteers.
The session started with a brief introduction about who volunteers are; what volunteering is; what NGOs' are, followed by an interactive session and a few group activities.
Volunteers were divided into four groups. The groups had to bring out their own perspective as to what can be achieved through volunteering and the significance of a volunteer in social development.
The session highlighted the duties of a volunteer towards his/her organisation and also the assistance which the NGO is obligated to provide to the volunteer.
These interactive exercises helped the students brainstorm their ideas out and understand the concept more efficiently. Tips on how to share information and what to share helped the volunteers outline the areas of information sharing with their respective organisations. They were exposed to the attributes of an efficient manager, which will surely help them become good managers in days ahead. The orientation programme helped the volunteers get to know their work well and was a great head start to their contribution in community welfare.
