Digital Orientation Program for Students And Parents

iLEAD, for the first time ever organized digital orientation for the new batch of students in 2020. Keeping in mind the safety of the students in the present state of pandemic, iLEAD decided to go online and replicate the physical format of the orientation program in the virtual environment. Both Students’ and Parents’ Orientation programs were organized separately on the digital platform for the students and parents respectively.

The students’ orientation program of 2020 was themed as ‘Change Is Chance’ stressing on the present rate of change the world is going through and how the same will open up newer avenues for the students providing them greater opportunities ahead.

‘Orientation 2020 – Change Is Chance’ was started from August 1st 2020. The Parents’ Orientation program was conducted on August 1st and the Students’ Orientation program started from August 4th and continued till August 7th 2020. Mr. Kaushik Mitra, Vice President and CFO at PepsiCo India, addressed as the Chief Guest at the digital orientation program for students.

Day 1 (August 4th) included Welcome Address by the Chairman of iLEAD, Mr. Pradip Chopra and Chief Guest, Mr. Kaushik Mitra, followed by a Presentation by Team Academics, a session by Executive Director, Ms. Pragya Chopra, various activities by student clubs of iLEAD and case studies.

Day 2 (August 5th) and Day 3 (August 6th) also had exciting activities for the students. Day 4 (August 7th) included workshops by professionals on Management, Media, Film and Television, Design, Animation, Data Science and Analytics and Cyber Security.

The students’ activities included games like ‘Scavenger Hunt’ wherein the organizers prepared a list of specific items which the participants were to seek within their homes to gather or complete and then send a selfie with the same. Another activity was ‘Zoom In’ which was a pictorial game where the participants had to guess what the item was based on the various clues given. The third activity was ‘Guess The Sound’. It was an audio based game where the participants had to guess the source of the sound. Students were also given ‘Weirdest Selfie Challenge’ in which each student had to take the weirdest possible selfie and send within 5 minutes. Another activity had been ‘Branding – Fun Do’ that focused on the present business crisis faced by organizations due to the ongoing pandemic and how the students can come up with unique ideas and campaigns to sell products like designer masks or sanitizers that are the most relevant yet competitive products in the current circumstances.

The Parents’ Orientation Program was also held digitally. The parents were welcomed in the session by Chairman, Mr. Pradip Chopra. Parents of the outgoing batch also spoke about their enriched experiences. The session included a presentation session by the academics team and corporate relations.

iLEAD has been one institution that has always looked ahead and incorporated world class curriculum structure for the students. As per the New Education Policy and changing conditions in the education domain, iLEAD is continuously formulating and executing ideas for the holistic development of the students in the present disruptive and changing times.
